What causes Windows Runtime Errors?
Windows Runtime Errors are very complex, and can cause a great deal of frustration with their technical language. Each error message usually pops up with a code and explanation. For example, you might see "Runtime error 75 path/file access error" or "Runtime error Illegal function call."
A Windows Runtime Error is an error that occurs during a program’s runtime (i.e.: while a program is active and running).
There are a number of reasons that Runtime Errors occur. The most common are:
- Conflicts with a running program or possibly a TSR. TSR stands for Terminate and Stay Resident. These stay in memory even after the user exits so that they can be recalled with the touch of a “hotkey.” These were very common when DOS was popular, but are not used as often in Windows.
- Software issues. Programs, utilities, games, add-ons or plug-ins could cause problems if updates to patch bugs are not installed.
- Computer viruses. These can tamper with a PC’s settings and memory and cause trouble.
- Memory issues.
- Hardware issues
- Problems with the Windows Registry. These could also include some of issues listed above.
As there are a variety of reasons for Windows Runtime Errors, it is not practical to try to isolate the specific cause. Instead, the best approach is to attempt to repair them all automatically, which can be done by running a registry cleaner. This can often fix many of the issues that inundate your system with these errors.

Testimonial
I got to hear of RegCure because my old computer was crashing on a regular basis. The problem turned out to be a chip which was overheating and was not worth repairing so a new computer was bought but having the confidence that RegCure gives, working quietly and efficiently in the background to solve registry issues means that I can relax and enjoy my computer again. I don't know, nor care, how these haunted fish tanks work, I just know how frustrating it is when they do not! Regcure helps give me peace of mind and Privacy Controls enables me to tidy up all those history files that fill up the memory from on-line traffic. Good investments and worth the money! It's rare to find software that really does what it says on the tin! Yours does!
Cheers,
Dave Hall
